Trainer Assessor: Open Water Lifeguard

If you are an experienced Open Water Lifeguard then this could be the next step for you.
Course Overview:
This course enables candidates to be a Trainer Assessors and be responsible for the delivery of Open Water Lifeguard Qualifications throughout the UK. It has been designed for anybody that is an experienced Open Water Lifeguard to take the next step.
The course will be delivered using a variety of methods including:
- PowerPoint Presentations
- Flip Chart Exercises
- Guided Group Discussions
- Guided Group Activities
- Practical Demonstrations and Training
You are required to bring the following items to the course:
- Photographic Identification (must be shown to the trainer on the first day of the course)
- A whistle
- Appropriate Swim Wear – including wet Suit, gloves, boots
- Shorts and T-shirt (to wear over swimwear in the lake)
- Towel
- Pen / pencil
- Note paper
- Brightly coloured swim hat
- Hand sanitiser
- Suncream
Course Prerequisites
All learners must meet the following criteria before starting the course:
- Be 18+ years of age at the start of the course
- Hold current RLSS UK Licence to Operate membership
- Hold the necessary qualification for the specialism you are attending (OWL)
On completion of the course, there is a probationary period (maximum of two years) and you will be supported by a National Trainer Assessor or a Mentor. We have experienced mentors within our team or you can source your own.
Course Assessment:
As part of the course you will be required to deliver several presentations.
To prepare for the course you should research the topic allocated to you and create a lesson using the lesson plan (topic and lesson plan will be sent via email).
Please remember you will be delivering RLSS UK qualification and should only research using RLSS UK publications relating to the specialism you are attending.
